Security is a runtime architecture concern, not a perimeter project

Security in agentic systems cannot be a static perimeter check. It becomes a continuous runtime decision: Which actions are safe? What gates must pass? What evidence do we require? The architecture answer is explicit security gates at execution time, tier-specific controls, and machine-verifiable evidence quality.

Patterns referenced: Security gates per autonomy tier · Runtime evidence collection for security posture · Static perimeter security drifts in agentic execution

Safe autonomy needs action-tier security boundaries

Security in agentic systems cannot be a single global rule set. Different actions carry different blast radius. The architecture requirement is action-tier security boundaries: policy gates, evidence requirements, and escalation rules that scale with decision impact.

Patterns referenced: Security control profile by action tier · Policy-only security without runtime evidence creates false confidence · Agent trace sink
